Rockstar Retreat

Hey my beauties! As many of you know, I attended a hair retreat in Calgary Alberta, Canada. I have been in a beauty business mentor program since May ‘22. My mentor, Dawn Bradley, has helped hundreds of beauty professionals learn about the business of beauty. More importantly her program is curated for the individual. Her expertise helps us to know where we are in our business, created healthy business boundaries, how we can grow and what we need to let go that is no longer serving the greater good for our goals.

For the first time in February ‘23, Dawn opened the doors to her home in Canada for 9 stylist to learn and grow in a very intimate setting. This two day retreat was more than I could’ve ever imagined. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, all I knew was that I needed to sort out what I needed for my businss, my clients and my professional goals. I will do my best to put into words what this experince meant that was so transformative. The most amazing thing I’ve ever experinced for my business to date.

What I can appreciate about my mentor is that her gentle/tough love will cut through the most stubborn excuses most can come up with as to why they’re not achieving what they say they want from themselves and their business. We spent the first day really getting down to the “why” that’s stopping us from making the changes we needed. It was deeper than just business though, she helped us navigate through mental blocks that reaches back, for some of us, to childhood events/experinces that has stopped us for YEARS. On day two she brought in her therapist who taught us what trauma is and how we hold it in our brains and bodies. McKenzie, the therapist, took us through a guided meditation to help us get to a safe metal space when things get to overwhelming. Needless to say there was a lot of tears, intimate stories/exeriences shares, lots of hugs and breakthroughs. By the end of day two we were able to really dig into the business of things from a pure and clear perspective so we could make decisions that wasn’t clouded by fear, anxiety or unrealistic expectations. This is the foundation of growing my business in a healthy way. I’m so lucky to have a mentor that is my personal Yoda that will guide me to be my most genuine self in business. If you know of any beauty professional (hairstylist, esthetician, lash tech, nail tech etc.) that wants to learn about the business of beauty be sure to check out Dawn Bradley’s site www.dawnbradley.com.
